Noble grapes

Noble grapes is a term used in the French wine region of Alsace to refer to the white grapes Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris and Muscat. Ninety percent of the wines produced in this region are from white grape varieties, since they benefit from the cool, sunny growing season.  They range from dry, young wines to very sweet, age worthy examples.  All of the noble grapes are very aromatic and delicate, with aromas reminiscent of nectarines, white flowers, and even petroleum, among others.

The Trimbach family has been producing wine in Alsace for 13 generations.  Their approach to wine is very classic, where the natural fruit flavors of the grapes shine along piercing acidity, smoothness and elegance.  Try their examples of these noble grapes along a charcuterie and pickled vegetable plate for a fun trip to this unique wine region.
